Three days to go

Three days to go.

I get them all round. Friends since I-don’t-know-when. We order pizza, paint our toenails violent red, sing along to Nina Simone.

First bottle of wine, they tell me how happy I look. I pick at a slice of pepperoni; try not to grin too smugly.

Second bottle, we’re poring over photos of boyfriends-past, hooting with laughter.

Sixth bottle, suddenly they round on me. Snap the music off.

‘Actually, we wanted to talk to you. Jess…are you certain he’s the right one for you?’

Pepperoni lodges in my throat and the room spins.

Three days to go.

Friday Fictioneers is hosted by Rochelle Wisoff-Fields. The challenge is to write a complete story in 100 words, prompted by a given photo. Not easy, but a lot of fun! Click here to find out more about it.

You might want to change pouring to poring

I would think six bottles of wine would be a bit too much to expect a rational conversation from anyone. Yikes. I’d probably be asleep.

ha ha ha James, it depends on your tolerance level!! Also, on how many excitable girls the bottles are being shared amongst…

    Dear Rebecca,

Bachelorette party I presume? Sounds about right. Hopefully, after her hangover clears she’ll be ready to walk down the aisle. Well done.

    Shalom,

    Rochelle

Yes indeed, bachelorette party. Or, as it’s known in the UK – hen party! She MAY be ready to walk down the aisle in three days…or her friends may have given her somethign very real to think about!

Well, it’s good that her friends have her back. On the other hand, he might be a nice guy…

Yes, when the wine starts flowing, the filters come off. I wonder if her friends will derail her walk down the aisle.

Oh now… if she didn’t have cold feet before her hen party…
Hopefully she is secure in her choice, otherwise…

Thanks for commenting Dale. Yes, it definitely is quite a big ‘otherwise’….
